International Competition

The competition selection includes feature-length fiction, documentary, or animation films produced in 2024–2025 that focus on music or musicians. While not strictly limited to this theme, films in which music plays a dominant narrative role may also be included. Films must not have been previously screened at another festival or cinema in Izmir. The selected films are evaluated by a jury of five cinema professionals (including directors, producers, composers, performing musicians, film critics, or academics) from both Turkey and abroad. The jury presents the following awards in the International Competition: Best Film (Crystal Flamingo), Best Original Music (Crystal Flamingo), and the Jury Special Prize (awarded jointly to the film, director, songwriter/lyricist, or sound designer).

Audience Award

Ten individuals from various age groups (18+) are selected by the festival administration to form the Audience Jury. Their names are announced before the festival. This jury is responsible for watching all films in the Interational Competition. The Audience Award is announced during the festival’s closing night by the representatives of the jury.
