SERDAR KALAFATOĞLU

President of the Jury - Musician

He began his musical journey in elementary school with piano lessons from Cemal Reşit Rey. He studied clarinet for seven years at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory, then graduated from the Clarinet Department of the State Conservatory at Mimar Sinan University. While still a student, he started performing as a clarinetist with the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, where he continued to work for over 40 years between 1979 and 2024. He also pursued a prolific career in theatre music and performed in concerts as a pianist alongside Zeliha Berksoy. In the early 1980s, he joined Barış Manço and the Kurtalan Ekspres, playing both clarinet and piano, and later performed with the ensemble Durul Gence 12. Between 1987 and 2005, he focused intensely on music for theatre and television. He composed music for many productions including 'Ateşten Günler', 'Bir Tren Yolculuğu', 'Ağrı’ya Dönüş', 'Geçmiş Bahar Mimozaları', 'Ayaşlı ve Kiracıları', 'İstanbul Belgeseli', 'Yağmuru Beklerken', 'Bir Aşk Uğruna', 'Bir Demet Tiyatro', 'Üvey Baba' and 'Yedi Numara'. In 1994, he won the Best Music Award at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival for the film 'Bir Aşk Uğruna'. He currently continues his musical work with the Istanbul CRR Jazz Orchestra.

Writer - Director

He graduated from the Cinema and Television Department at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. During his university years, he made short films. His cinema articles were published in many magazines. Between 1990 and 2023, he worked as a consultant, general coordinator, scriptwriter, editing director and director in numerous TV programs, series, and documentaries. He served as a jury member in various festivals. Between 2000 and 2024, he wrote a total of 86 biographies and research books on Turkish cinema and television. He currently works as a researcher, writer, and consultant.

Journalist - Writer

Graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University, Department of Political Science. Started his journalism career at ‘32. Gün’. Produced influential news and interviews for Haftalık Dergisi and Vatan Gazetesi. Worked at Habertürk newspaper and analyzed local TV series on Bloomberg TV. Hosted the ‘Dizi Doktoru’ program on Habertürk and Kanaltürk. Wrote the ‘Dizi Doktoru’ column for Vatan Gazetesi between 2013-2019. Author of the novels ‘Boşan da Gel’ and ‘Hadi Ben Kaçtım’. Also a screenwriter, currently working on his third novel, ‘I Am Here’. Founder of the dizidoktoru.com website.

SİNA KOLOĞLU

Musician - TV Critic

Graduated from Gazi University’s Management Sciences, began a music journey early with piano lessons. Co-founded one of Turkey’s most established rock bands in 1986 as a keyboardist. Started journalism career at Cumhuriyet newspaper, reporting for ten years. Since 2009, prepares the television section for Milliyet newspaper and writes the “Rating Monster” column about the TV industry. With experience in both music and media, continues active work in both fields.

Film & TV Critic

She began her television and cinema career in the U.S. as a production assistant at PBS, and after returning to Turkey, she worked as an editor-reporter for NTV’s ‘Gece Gündüz’, directed the ‘Öğrenci Evi’ program on TRT Okul, and worked as an editor for ATV’s ‘Kim Milyoner Olmak İster’; her first short film, shot in Esperanto, was screened at numerous international festivals; she is pursuing a PhD in archaeology and cinema at Istanbul University, teaches Film Criticism at Yeditepe University, serves as Content Director at DM Star Yapım, and continues writing a cinema column for BirGün newspaper.
