Before the wedding, the families of the man and the woman come together. At this meeting, where rituals specific to Turkey are discussed, while there is complete harmony between the two families, it is revealed that the groom committed a murder in the past years. This news sparks many discussions, from political debates to gender roles. The true faces of the characters, who are decorated and ready to play their roles, are revealed. Nothing will be the same again.

Soner Sert

Born in 1989 in İzmir, Sert graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Cinema and Television. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Film Design at Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts. Having worked on numerous film, documentary, and TV series sets, Sert published her book Making a Film – Directors Talk About Their First Films in March 2018 with h2o Books. The book is a collection of interviews in which directors such as Emin Alper, Tolga Karaçelik, Ezel Akay, Deniz Akçay, Hüseyin Karabey, and Seren Yüce discuss the theoretical and practical aspects of their debut films.

Her first short story collection, Duvar (The Wall), consisting of nine stories, was published in May 2018 by İthaki Publishing. Her stories have appeared in literary magazines such as Kitap-lık, Varlık, Yeni e, and Sözcükler, while her articles and interviews on arts and culture have been published in Altyazı, Sanat Dünyamız, Birikim, Gazete Duvar, Bianet, BirGün, Artful Living, and Cumhuriyet. In October 2019, her book Cinema of a Stateless Nation, focusing on Kurdish Cinema, was published by Dipnot Books.
