Inspired by the story of "The King and the Slave Girl" from Rumi's Masnavi, the film follows Marife, who has lived alone in the mountains of the Black Sea region for forty years. The arrival of a visitor reopens old wounds, bringing buried truths and a long-lost love back to the surface.

Müge Uğurlar

Müge Uğurlar began her studies at Marmara University, Department of Turkish Language and Literature, and completed her education before stepping into the film and television industry. She started her career as a trainee assistant director on the TV series Alacakaranlık and went on to work in the directing departments of several productions, including Dudaktan Kalbe, Uzak İhtimal, and Hanımın Çiftliği.

In 2013, she took on the role of second director in the series Fatih, followed by work on Urfalıyam Ezelden, Güllerin Savaşı, İlişki Durumu Karışık, and Kiralık Aşk. Her directorial debut came in 2016 with Aşk Laftan Anlamaz, which earned her the “Best Director Award.” She later directed projects such as Yuvamdaki Düşman, Şampiyon, Limit, and Annenin Sırrıdır.

In 2023, she directed her first feature film, Derun, and continued her film career in 2024 with Aşk ve Yemek.
