From cities to mountains, from plains to diverse cultures, the journey traces the paths of the saz. Petra Nachtmanova, one of the few saz musicians in Western Europe, sets out from Berlin to discover how this ancient instrument has remained at the heart of so many cultures, traveling 7 countries and 10,000 kilometers to reach its birthplace in Khorasan. In Stephan Talneau’s debut film, Nachtmanova explores the origins and mysteries of this two-thousand-year-old instrument alongside masters such as Erdal Erzincan, Erkan Ogur, Murat Ertel, Ayşe Şewaqî, Mübariz Əliyev, Telli Turnalar, Özgür Fırat, Umut Erdoğan, Saz Ensemble 'Sevda,' and Tatavla Keyfi.
